I was born in June of 1980 in Abilene, Texas. I lived in Corsicana, Texas until the age of twelve. We moved to Venezuela in 1992 and I left in 1998 to attend the University of Texas at Austin. In 2005, I moved to Japan to teach English. I married my wife in 2006 and we had our first child in 2007. Our son was born in 2010 and we moved to north Texas, where we currently live, in 2011.

The opportunities I have had to live abroad have influenced me in many ways. I feel like my mind and heart have been opened to differences and developed an awareness of others. In addition to English, I can speak Spanish and Japanese. This has not only helped me get jobs, but it has allowed me to communicate with different people.
